Calling All Community Heroes: Volunteer for the Run of the Mill 5K!

The Run of the Mill 5K is back, and we’re gearing up for an exciting event on Sunday, September 14th, 2025 at the Mill Creek Town Center! This family-friendly race, featuring a 5K, 10K, and Kids Race, is a beloved community tradition that kicks off the Fall with energy, enthusiasm, and heart. But we can’t make it happen without YOU—our incredible local volunteers. If you’re passionate about bringing people together and supporting a great cause, we need your help to make this year’s Run of the Mill 5K the best yet

Why Volunteer?

The Run of the Mill 5K is more than just a race—it’s a celebration of community, health, and the beautiful Kirkland waterfront.

Volunteers are the backbone of this event, ensuring everything runs smoothly while creating a welcoming and fun atmosphere for runners, families, and spectators. By volunteering, you’ll:
  • Make a Difference: Your efforts will support a community-driven event that brings joy and fosters connection.
  • Meet New People: Connect with fellow volunteers, runners, and local businesses who share your love for Kirkland.
  • Have Fun: Be part of the action, cheer on participants, and soak in the festive vibe.
  • Give Back: Help raise funds for local programs and initiatives that keep our community thriving.

Volunteer Roles We Need

We’re looking for enthusiastic locals to fill a variety of roles on race day. No experience is required—just a positive attitude and a willingness to pitch in! Here are some of the ways you can help:
  • Course Marshals: Guide runners along the scenic route, ensuring safety and offering encouragement.
  • Registration and Check-In: Welcome participants, distribute bibs, and help with race-day logistics.
  • Water Station Crew: Keep runners hydrated by handing out water and cheering them on.
  • Finish Line Support: Hand out medals, snacks, and water to celebrate runners’ achievements.
  • Kids Race Helpers: Assist with the Kids Race to ensure our youngest participants have a blast.
  • Setup and Cleanup: Help set up Marina Park before the event or tidy up afterward to leave the space sparkling.
